Announcement from Robert Sider CEO

Major Developments in 2013

We are delighted to announce the opening of our Funeral Advice and Bond Centre at Sylvania Way on February 11th 2013. The unit is situated on the ground floor at Sylvania Way in the area that used to house the luggage department. It will offer advice and guidance on all Funeral related issues including Funeral Bonds, which are becoming ever more popular as people start to plan their Funerals ahead of time.

We hope it will go some way to “demystifying” the Funeral process and encourage people to pop in and chat to our staff who will be only too happy to help and advise them.

We would also like to announce our intention to build our Food trading presence in Knightswood and in August will open a new store adjacent to our Funeral Home at Baldwin Avenue. The new store has approximately 1200 square feet of trading area and will bring our Food Store portfolio to eight.

I hope that this will go some way to give our customers and all the good people of Clydebank confidence in the Society’s continuing passion to develop and survive what are very trying times on the High Street, and diffuse many of the negative comments from those who thought that the Society was closing down last year. The Non Food unit at Sylvania Way will be closely monitored during the course of this year and a decision made on its longevity made once we have accurate performance details.

I would thank you all for bearing with us last year as we scaled down our Non Food operation and look forward to seeing you all over the course of 2013.
